You probably know the importance of adopting a healthy diet, particularly during pregnancy. That is the reason why you all of a sudden start adding all of the right foodstuffs in your grocers list as quickly as you learned that you are on the family way.
But just how sure are you that you're not falling into the booby trap of eating the incorrect sort of foods?
Avoiding foods that can be dangerous for you and your baby is just as similarly significant as selecting the right stuff. So , here’s a listing of some of the foods you must avoid while you're pregnant:
-
Anything undercooked. While meat, poultry and eggs contain imperative nutrients that can help in the proper development and growth of your baby, not cooking them thoroughly can significantly boost your risk of food-borne diseases. Hence for now, it's better to avoid processed meat, cooled meat pates and spreads, raw fish and/or shellfish and anything that can contain raw or partially cooked eggs. Also avoid eating raw sprouts during these times.
-
Seafood with high mercury content. Mercury can be toxic, especially for your growing baby. So , it will be in your own interest to prohibit marlin, mackerel, swordfish and shark from your diet. Remember, it is often better to be safe than regretful.
-
Seafood that came from polluted waters. If it comes from less than satisfactory sources, there is no chance you will be safe eating it.
-
Soft cheeses. Even though it’s among your favorites, please do not consume mold-ripened soft cheeses (brie, chevre and camembert) and soft mould ripened cheeses (Danish blue and gorgonzola) during your pregnancy months. Otherwise, you are putting yourself in jeopardy for listeriosis, a bacterial infection that can result in early deliver, miscarriage and death.
-
Alcohol, tea and coffee. Both alcohol and caffeine can noticeably raise your chance of miscarriage so keep them off your diet, too.
Now you know all of the foods you want to strike off your corner store list during your pregnancy, you can be warranted that you’ll only have what’s best for you and your baby. Enjoy a good and happy pregnancy!
